Extended-Stay Housing in Cleveland for Business Travelers
What extended-stay housing looks like with a local rental team
Extended-stay usually means a month or longer — longer than a hotel booking, but shorter or more flexible than a standard year lease. If you're arranging a stay for a visiting consultant, a rotating project team, or new staff who haven't settled yet, a residential rental can be a more comfortable and lower-cost option than weeks in a hotel.
It helps to be clear about who we are up front. Rent Finder Cleveland is a local rental team — not a national relocation vendor or a corporate-housing chain. We help renters find, tour, and apply for homes across Greater Cleveland, and we can do the same when a company is placing staff. We don't run a hotel desk, and most homes we work with are standard unfurnished residential rentals leased on conventional terms.
Tell us three things: dates, headcount, and location
The fastest way for us to be useful is a short brief. With your dates, how many people you're housing, and roughly where they need to be, we can tell you quickly what our current selection can and can't cover — no drawn-out intake process.
- Dates — earliest move-in and how long the stay runs (one month, three months, or open-ended)
- Headcount — how many people, and whether they share one home or need separate homes
- Location anchor — the office, job site, hospital, or campus they need to be near
- Bedrooms and occupancy — bedrooms per home and total number of occupants
- Must-haves — parking, ground-floor access, on-site laundry, or room to work
- Furnished or unfurnished — and whether your team brings their own furniture
Where our current selection is concentrated
Being honest about geography saves everyone time. Our roughly 90 homes are concentrated on Cleveland's East and Southeast sides, with additional homes in some suburbs and in the Akron, Lorain, and Elyria areas. If your team needs to be inside a downtown tower, we may be a poor fit; if they're working near a facility or job site on the East side or in an outer community, we may have exactly what you need.
You can get a feel for typical layouts and areas on our houses for rent in Cleveland listings before you send a brief, so your request is grounded in what's realistic for the area.
What we can and can't cover for month-plus stays
We'd rather set expectations early than overpromise — here's the honest breakdown.
- We can shortlist voucher-friendly, HUD-inspection-ready residential homes, arrange tours, and walk an application through to lease.
- We can look at month-plus stays where a landlord we work with is open to a shorter or flexible term — tell us the length and we'll check.
- We can't guarantee furnished units, housewares, bundled utilities, or hotel-style services; most homes are leased unfurnished.
- We can't act as a relocation-management company handling flights, per diem, or nationwide placement — we're local to Greater Cleveland.
- We won't know what fits until you share the dates and location, because availability changes week to week.
Local rules that affect longer stays
Every home we work with welcomes Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) and is kept ready for a CMHA Housing Quality Standards inspection — the same baseline that tends to make a home comfortable for a longer stay. If anyone on your team uses a voucher, that's already built in; you can read how to apply for Section 8 with CMHA for the steps.
The City of Cleveland does not currently have a source-of-income ordinance, though several inner-ring suburbs do — including Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, University Heights, Warrensville Heights, and Linndale. Whoever your team is, we follow the Fair Housing Act in every interaction and match homes strictly to your stated needs — bedrooms, occupancy, timing, and location — never to anything else.
