3-bedroom houses for rent on Cleveland's west side

Cleveland's west side spans from the near-west neighborhoods of Ohio City and Tremont out through Detroit-Shoreway, Cudell, Edgewater, Clark-Fulton, and southwest into Old Brooklyn and Brooklyn Centre. Most of our rental homes are concentrated on the east and southeast side of the city, but we do manage a smaller number of units on the west side, mainly in ZIP codes 44102 (Cudell/Detroit-Shoreway), 44109 (Old Brooklyn/Brooklyn Centre), and 44113 (Ohio City/Tremont).

Because west-side inventory is a smaller slice of what we manage, a specific 3-bedroom house in a specific west-side ZIP won't always be available the day you search. The most reliable way to find out what's actually open right now is to book a showing and tell us the neighborhood and bedroom count you want.

Getting around Cleveland's west side

Ohio City is served directly by the RTA Red Line at the Ohio City station, one stop from Tower City Downtown, and is home to the historic West Side Market at W. 25th Street and Lorain Avenue. Detroit-Shoreway contains the Gordon Square Arts District along Detroit Avenue, and Edgewater Park sits on the Lake Erie shoreline nearby. Clark-Fulton, just south, runs along the MetroHealth main campus corridor on W. 25th Street. Old Brooklyn, farther southwest, is near the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Drivers on the west side typically rely on I-90 along the lakefront and I-71 running southwest, both of which connect to Downtown in under 15 minutes from most west-side ZIP codes under normal traffic.

Section 8 vouchers for west-side 3-bedroom homes

Every home we manage on the west side accepts Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) and is kept HUD-inspection-ready, the same as our east-side inventory. CMHA, the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, administers vouchers countywide and accepts online preliminary applications year-round, with placement decided by random selection rather than a strict waiting line.

As with the rest of Cleveland, the city itself has no source-of-income ordinance mandating voucher acceptance — only certain suburbs (Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, University Heights, Warrensville Heights, and Linndale) currently have that protection. Read our full Section 8 guide for what that means when you're apartment- or house-hunting.

What a west-side 3-bedroom rental typically includes

West-side housing stock near Ohio City and Tremont tends toward older, narrow-lot single- and two-family homes, while Old Brooklyn and Clark-Fulton include a mix of houses and small multi-unit buildings. As with our portfolio overall, expect a blend of single-family houses and duplex or triplex units, not exclusively detached houses, when you search Cleveland houses for rent or compare against our east side listings.
