Apartments Near the RTA Red Line / Rapid
Cleveland's Red Line, locally called the Rapid, is Greater Cleveland RTA's only heavy-rail line, running from Hopkins Airport through Downtown's Tower City to Windermere in East Cleveland, with a University Circle stop along the way. Our apartment-style rentals concentrate near that stop, in Glenville and Hough — tell us your target station when you book a showing.
Which Cleveland apartments are actually near the Red Line?
The Red Line — known locally as the Rapid — runs one corridor from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport through Downtown's Tower City hub to Windermere Station in East Cleveland, so "near the Red Line" can mean very different parts of the city depending on which stop you mean. Our apartment-style rental homes are closest to the line's University Circle stop, since our Glenville and Hough inventory borders that area, and we also manage one home in the Ohio City ZIP (44113) near that station on the near-west side.

Red Line stations and the neighborhoods they serve
The Red Line is the only U.S. rapid-transit line that connects a downtown directly to its city's main airport, and trains run roughly every 15 minutes throughout the day.
| Red Line station | What's nearby | Our closest apartment-style inventory |
|---|---|---|
| University Circle | Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Clinic vicinity | Glenville (44108) and Hough (44103), both bordering University Circle |
| Ohio City | West Side Market, near-west side dining district | One managed unit in the Ohio City/Tremont ZIP (44113) |
| Tower City (Downtown) | Central rail hub connecting to the Blue, Green, and Waterfront lines | Reachable by bus from our Fairfax/Central (44104) inventory |
| Windermere (East Cleveland) | Northeast terminus of the line | Near our Glenville (44108) and Collinwood (44110) homes |
How much do apartments near the Red Line rent for?
Zumper's July 4, 2026 report puts Cleveland's citywide median asking rent at $1,195 for a 1-bedroom and $1,100 for a 2-bedroom, while RentCafe's (Yardi) July 2, 2026 report shows much higher averages — $1,451 and $1,818 respectively — for larger, professionally-managed apartment complexes. Neither source breaks out rent specifically by transit corridor.
Across our own portfolio near the University Circle and Ohio City stations, 2-bedroom apartment-style homes generally run from about $750 to $1,100 a month, and 3-bedroom homes from about $1,100 to $1,500, reflecting the older duplex and triplex stock most of our inventory sits in rather than large new-construction buildings.
Living car-optional near Cleveland's rail network
Tower City isn't just a stop on the Red Line — it's where the Blue and Green light-rail lines (both running to Shaker Heights) and the Waterfront Line (to the Flats and North Coast lakefront) all converge, so a home near any of those connecting lines still puts you within one transfer of the Red Line corridor. The HealthLine, RTA's bus-rapid-transit route along Euclid Avenue, runs a separate but connected corridor between Public Square and University Circle — useful if your daily trip runs toward Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, or Case Western Reserve University, three of the region's largest employers.
If a car-optional commute matters, ask us specifically about a station or the HealthLine route rather than just "near the Rapid" — a short walk to a stop makes a bigger practical difference than being generally on the same side of the city.
